It's time BC stopped NDAs from silencing victims

Stand with the BC Green Party and the Can't Buy My Silence campaign as we call on government to pass the Non-Disclosure Agreements Act.

While individuals of all genders and backgrounds report experiencing discrimination and harassment from supervisors, clients, or colleagues at work, survivors disproportionately include BIPOC and LGBTQ2AI+ people, particularly in cases of sexual harassment.

It's time the BC government steps up to make our workplaces a safer, more transparent place for everyone, especially victims of abuse.

Join us by signing our petition and call on the the BC NDP to reform the use of NDAs.

To the Honourable the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, in Legislature Assembled:

The petition of the undersigned, residents of the Province of British Columbia, states that:

Whereas Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) are only to be used by employers to protect trade secrets and intellectual property;

Whereas NDAs have become tools to silence survivors of sexual harassment, racism, ableism, and other forms of workplace discrimination and harassment;

Whereas this misuse causes irreparable harm on British Columbians who have experienced serious misconduct in the workplace;

Whereas victims are made to feel like they have no choice but to exchange their silence for compensation or a settlement;

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the Honourable House protect survivors of sexual harassment and discrimination in BC by passing Bill M215, Non-Disclosure Agreements Act.
